At  Los Angeles Convention Center

私たちは 『京都の誇る工芸の美を海外へ発信』 というグループを構成してロスアンジェルスに於いて開催されたジャパンエキスポに参加、出展致しました。京都の伝統工芸品を外国人に直接紹介すると共に、これからの漆器創作のヒントを得るためには大変有意義なイベント参加となりました。

  会場のほとんどの人々に取っては、本物の京漆器、京蒔絵に触れるのは初めて。数多くのアメリカ人に感動を与える事が出来た事は大きな成果となりました。

     We formed a group under a name "Introducing Kyoto's Traditional Arts and Crafts to Overseas" and exhibited our products at Japan Expo in Los Angeles.  This group was organized as a part of our efforts to introduce Kyoto's beautiful craftsmanship and new forms of lacquerware  to the general public in the U.S.

     Our exhibit was a big success.  The visitors' responses were overwhelming.  Our Makie (see Home Page) technique demonstration amazed thousands of visitors.
